I’m a lifelong reader. And dreamer. And storyteller. As well as everything else that involves finding the richness, learning, heartache, laughter, healing, and joy in life. That’s what story did for me when I was a girl, and it still does it for me today.
The authors I admire weave in the realness of life, the quirks of character, and the tarnished quest to find hope—hope is at the root of everything, is it not?—and that’s what I aim to do every time I begin writing a new story. It’s that breeze of better days that guides me, and I weave that betterment into the chapters that fill my head, and sometimes my pages too.
I think of books as everyday vacations. A mental escape from the messiness of life and a departure to a place where dramas, conflicts, romances, and danger are resolved after a handful of chapters. If you agree that books are cheaper than airfare, join me in the pursuit of writing and creating more of these everyday vacations, and let’s compare postcards from the books that have given us the most pleasure.
As an author of award-winning historical and contemporary fiction, Kimberly enjoys sharing the backstory to her popular novels as well as peeling back the curtain on the history at the root of her books. She would love to participate in your meeting anyway she can because she totally understand the need to know, “the rest of the story.” For clubs, groups, or organizations outside of East Texas, she is happy to schedule a free 30-minute online or phone visit with members. If it works out that she can visit at your location, her fees are nominal. You can use the contact form here to book Kimberly for your event.
When you subscribe to Kimberly’s newsletter it’s like a VIP card at the discount store: you’re the first to hear of new releases, book scoop, freebies, awards, and those personal tid-bits that she sometimes share. As a thank you for subscribing, Kimberly will send you a free, digital copy of the novella, Emeralds Mark the Spot, downloadable to your preferred device; the first story that kicked off the two series; Comfort Stories and Comfort and Joy. In honor of your trust, Kimberly will not sell or share your information, and you can unsubscribe at any time.
